Ubi Bava (Santos, SP, 1915 - São Paulo, SP, 1988). Painter, draftsman and teacher. Attended the Escola Nacional de Belas Artes, graduating in architecture in 1939 and painting in 1940, in Rio de Janeiro. He studied with Lucilio de Albuquerque and Henrique Cavalleiro. In 1947, he became a professor of artistic drawing at the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, FAU/UFRJ. In 1961, he won the International Travel Award from the Salão de Arte Moderna and went to Europe, settling, mainly, in Italy. In 1975, he designed the set for the play Nosso Tempo, at the 1º Festival de Inverno do Rio de Janeiro.
